The basics

  1. What does Mantisize do?

    Mantisize checks how one page of your website is set up for search engines and AI tools, explains the results in plain English, and writes draft fixes for you to review.

  2. Do I need technical knowledge to use it?

    No. Results are written in plain English and tell you who can usually make each change. Anything that needs a developer comes with a brief you can copy and send them. Technical users can see a summary and every individual check.

  3. What is the difference between SEO and GEO?

    SEO, or search engine optimisation, helps your pages appear in search results. GEO, or generative engine optimisation, helps AI tools read, trust and quote your content. Many good habits help with both.

  4. Is Mantisize free?

    Yes, Mantisize is currently free to use. Daily and hourly limits apply, because each AI feature has a real running cost.

  5. Do I need an account?

    Not for checking a website: every check works without one. The AI features, such as written fixes and the AI test, need a free account that you sign in to with Google, plus a quick human check, so they can't be misused. An account also keeps your Competitor Check results safe and lets you see them on any device, and you can export or delete it at any time.

Your results

  1. Will Mantisize get me to the top of Google?

    We can't promise that, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Rankings also depend on your reputation, your competitors and links from other sites, which Mantisize doesn't measure. Google Search Console shows your real search performance.

  2. Does the AI test show what ChatGPT says about me?

    No. The test uses Claude with web search, so ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity may answer differently. It's also a small sample, and AI answers change each time. Treat it as a useful signal, not a precise measurement.

  3. Does it check my whole website?

    No. Each check covers the one page you enter, so try your home page and an important article or product page too, as the results can differ.

  4. Can Mantisize show my average dwell time?

    Not on its own. Only analytics running on your website can see how long real visitors stay. Competitor Check scores how well a page's content could hold a reader, and you can connect Google Analytics, or type in your figure, to see the real number alongside it for websites you have access to.

The AI and your website

  1. Does Mantisize change my website?

    No. Mantisize only reads public pages and never logs in to or edits your site. You choose what to publish, and you should check every AI draft for accuracy first.

  2. Can I trust what the AI writes?

    Check it before you publish it. Mantisize tells the AI not to invent facts, asks you for details only you know, and warns you about numbers that aren't in your page or answers. It can still make mistakes, including ones those checks can't catch.

Files and problems

  1. What happens to the documents I upload?

    They're sent to Anthropic's AI to create your summary or plan, and Mantisize doesn't save them. Don't upload anything confidential. The Privacy Policy explains this in full.

  2. Which files can I upload?

    You can upload up to 3 PDF, .txt or .md files, up to 5 MB each and 10 MB in total. Save Word documents as PDF first.

  3. Why can't Mantisize check my site?

    The most common reason is a firewall or security service blocking automated visitors. When that happens we explain it rather than scoring the block page. Mantisize also can't check private pages or pages behind a login.
