Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This policy explains what information Mantisize handles, why, who it's shared with and how long it's kept.
Who is responsible for your information?
Mantisize is operated by [legal company name], [registered address] ("we" or "us"). Contact us about privacy at getintouch@mantisize.com.
The short version
- You don't need an account to check a website. The AI features need you to sign in with Google and pass a quick human check. If you create one, we keep your email address, a scrambled form of your password, the websites you save and a history of the checks you run.
- We use no cookies, advertising trackers or analytics services on this site. The exceptions are login cookies if you create an account or connect Google Analytics.
- Each website check is saved with its report for 12 months. If you're logged in, it appears in your workspace. If you aren't, it isn't linked to you.
- What you type, your answers and the AI's replies are held in server memory for about an hour after your last activity, and aren't saved to a database.
- Text and documents you give the AI features are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider.
- Please don't upload or type anything confidential.
What information do you handle?
- Website addresses you enter, including any competitor's, and the public content we fetch from them.
- Weekly monitoring, if you switch it on for a website: its address, when it was last checked, the results to compare against, and the changes we find. We check the page again each week and keep a note of what changed in your workspace for 12 months. If email is set up, we also email you when something gets worse or the check fails.
- A record of each website check: the address you entered, its scores and report (or why the check failed), the language, when it ran, and which features you used afterwards, such as written fixes or a deep review. If you're logged in, it's linked to your account. We don't save your IP address, uploaded documents, answers or the AI's replies with it.
- Business details you confirm or edit, such as what you do, who your customers are and where you're based.
- Your interview answers and questions you ask in the results chat or the AI test.
- Documents you upload. These may contain personal information if you include it, so please remove anything you don't need to share.
- Your account, if you create one: your email address, a scrambled form of your password that we can't read, when you agreed to our terms, the Competitor Check results you save, and when you were last active. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and an identifier for your account with them, which we keep so you reach the same Mantisize account next time. We don't receive your password with them or access to anything else in those accounts. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real one.
- Your Google Analytics figures, only if you connect your account: the properties you can access and the visitor and engagement figures for websites you add to Competitor Check.
- Technical information: your IP address, used to apply usage limits, and server logs. Our logs can include the address of a page you checked, how much AI capacity a request used, and error details. If you use an AI feature, we also save your IP address with your account, the time and which feature it was, and the address your account was created from, so we can spot one person making many accounts to get around the limits.
- A request for a content writer, if you send one: your name, email address and website address, the pages and changes you describe, your notes, the language you used and when you sent it. If you're logged in, it's linked to your account. The person who runs Mantisize reads it, can keep a note on it and replies by email. We don't save your IP address with it.
Why do you use it?
We use this information to provide the checks and AI features you ask for, to show you your past checks in your workspace, to prevent abuse through usage limits, and to keep the service working and understand how it's used so we can improve it. The person who runs Mantisize can see every saved check, including the email address of the account it belongs to, for these purposes. To prevent misuse, they can also set daily limits on an account, send it a password reset, sign it out or suspend it, and every such action is recorded with the time and the administrator's network address. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you requested and on our legitimate interests in keeping it secure and reliable.
Who is it shared with?
- Other AI providers, if the site owner has connected them: the AI visibility test can also send your approved questions to OpenAI (ChatGPT), Perplexity and Google (Gemini). The questions never name your business, and no other information about you is sent to them. Each handles the questions under its own terms.
- Anthropic, our AI provider, receives page content and images, your business details, answers, questions and uploaded documents when you use an AI feature. It handles them under its own terms and privacy policy. Anthropic is based in the United States, so this information may be processed outside your country.
- Google and Apple, if you sign in with them. You sign in on their own pages, under their terms, and they tell us only your email address and an account identifier.
- Cloudflare, which runs the human check before the AI features. The check appears in a small window from Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and information about your browser and device to tell people from automated programs. We send Cloudflare the check's result and your IP address to confirm it. Cloudflare handles this under its own terms and privacy policy, and may process it outside your country.
- Google, if you connect Google Analytics. You sign in on Google's own page and we ask for read-only access. The access token stays in our server's memory for up to an hour, is never saved or sent to your browser, and is revoked if you disconnect. Your figures are saved only in your browser, including when you have an account. We never send Google Analytics data to Anthropic or anyone else. Our use of this data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
- Our email provider, Resend, which sends our emails: password resets, weekly monitoring alerts if you switch them on, and the details of a content writer request to the person who runs Mantisize.
- Web search providers: the AI test sends the questions you approve to a live web search.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers and may keep its own technical logs.
- The websites you check, which see a visit from our automated checker, not from you. To test that links work, the checker also visits up to 15 pages linked from the page you check, which can be on other websites. A whole-site check, available to account holders, visits up to 25 pages of the website entered, following its own links and respecting its robots.txt file.
- Authorities or advisers, if the law requires it or it's needed to protect our rights.
- A content writer we work with, only if you accept a quote: they receive your request and website address to do the work, and must keep them confidential.
How long do you keep it?
- Saved checks and their reports: 12 months, then deleted automatically. You can delete any of yours from your workspace, and deleting your account deletes them all.
- Your business details, answers, chat and the AI's replies: in server memory for about an hour after your last activity, or until the server restarts.
- Uploaded documents: we use them for that one request and don't keep them. Anthropic's own retention is set out in its terms.
- IP addresses for usage limits: in server memory for up to about an hour. IP addresses saved with your account, from when you created it and when you used an AI feature, are deleted after 90 days, or straight away if you delete your account.
- Your account: until you delete it, which you can do at any time from your account page. That removes your details, saved websites and saved checks straight away, though they may remain in our backups for a short time.
- Server logs: kept only as long as needed to run and secure the service, and limited by our hosting provider's settings.
- Content writer requests: 12 months, then deleted automatically, or straight away if you delete your account. You can ask us to delete one sooner.
Do you use cookies?
Only login cookies, which scripts can't read. If you log in to an account, one keeps you logged in for up to 30 days. If you sign in with Google or Apple, one lasts up to 10 minutes while you do so. If you connect Google Analytics, one lasts up to 10 minutes while you sign in and another up to an hour to keep you connected. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers. If you use Competitor Check without an account, your results and any figures you add are saved in your own browser, and its Clear button deletes them. If you are logged in, they are stored in your account instead. If any of this changes, we'll update this policy first.
What are my rights?
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal information, to move it, and to complain to your data protection authority. If you have an account, you can download or delete your data yourself from your account page, and delete single checks from your workspace. Checks made without an account aren't linked to you, so we may be unable to tell which are yours. To make a request, contact getintouch@mantisize.com.
How do you protect it?
We limit what we keep and how long we keep it, and we check website addresses so the service can't be used to reach private networks. No online service is completely secure, which is another reason not to upload confidential information.
Is Mantisize for children?
No. Mantisize is a business tool and isn't intended for anyone under 18.
Will this policy change?
We may update it as Mantisize changes. We'll post the new version here and change the date at the top.
